Current Workshop: Up-cycling in Art
On display, will be artworks that I have created using up-cycled broken jewelry. I’ll take you through the step-by-step process of creating your very own piece to go home with.
We will paint with acrylic on stretched canvas, look through my 30-year collection of broken jewelry, and ‘stick’ those broken bits to our artworks. Below, is an example of a “Fish Stick” that we will make. You’ll leave hooked on recycling in art! Questions? Get in touch!Send me a message through my General Contact Form. General Information on my classes and me

My teaching stems from my formal Fine Art training, where I specialized in Painting, Mixed-Media, and Sculpture. Combining those interests, I am developing a series of workshops focused on Up-cycling in Art. You’ll discover a new way to see those things we often discard or dismiss. Re-using items such as staples, broken jewelry, and other found objects, I will guide participants through every step of making recycled paintings, miniatures, or jewelry; all creations that tell a story. For those who don’t know me, my warm personality sets the stage for a playful, relaxed atmosphere where no previous experience is needed, and everyone goes home with their very own artwork.
Other Workshop ideas that are in the ‘works’:
- rolled-paper bead earrings,
- acrylic paintings with recycled beads and broken jewelry,
- staple art,
- paper-making,
- using natural elements such as fluffy dandelion seeds in jewelry,
- and whatever up-cycle-oriented ideas you want me to try to teach!
To make a suggestion for a class topic, or to join the invitation list for future workshops, send me a message!
