Group show at Trinity Art Gallery
“Mosaic – Mosaïque” is a show that is a true mosaic and culmination of many styles and mediums. From traditional watercolour and glasswork to multi-depth wall sculpture and newly-developed processes such as paper-tile mosaic, this show wows the eyes and imagination. On exhibition in the lovely space of Trinity Art Gallery, the show runs until March 19th; Monday to Sunday from 1AM to 10PM. Trinity ArtGallery is on the Ground Floor of the Shenkman Arts Centre at 245 Centrum Blvd. in Orleans. “Mosaic – Mosaïque” is organized by ArtEast, a highly-active, not-for-profit, visual arts organization.
I’m proud to have had 2 artworks selected for this juried group show.

Game Summit to feature “geeky” art
This year, Game Summit and Ottawa Geek Market have teamed up to provide an expansive 50,000 square feet of games, game designer lab, board game pavilion, tournaments, miniatures arena, workshops, merchants, and 70 exhibitors. Those exhibitors include artists of gaming graphics, and fine artists who happen to have a geeky side. Yes, I’m one of the geeky artists. 🙂 I’ll have a double-booth full of art, one of which will be “Man in a Gas Mask” (above) paper-tile mosaic. It is an homage to surrealist painter René Magritte‘s Man in a Bowler Hat.

Canadian Tire art show – Jan 15-Mar 5
My work has been selected for a solo show in Ottawa School of Art’s (OSA) offsite gallery located in the Exit Lobby of Canadian Tire. An odd location for a gallery or the perfect place to introduce people —1000 people per day!!!— to local art? I’ve already sold 3 artworks at that location in previous shows.

Successful Winter Fine Art Show
In addition to our annual studio tour in autumn, I and six other West End Studio Tour (W.E.S.T.) artists created a 3-day winter exhibit at Spiral Gallery in the heart of ‘Little Italy’. To our great delight, you and your friends came out in fine form and numbers to enjoy art of the season.
I and fellow W.E.S.T. artists Deidre Hierlihy, Rob Huntley, Manju Sah, Barb Sohn, Paul Wing and Paula Zoubek thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support. Also, a big thank-you to our “space partner”, Spiral Gallery. What a sweet locale and gracious host. 🙂

City of Ottawa awards free studio space
YAY! The City of Ottawa has awarded me a 6-month free studio rental at beautiful Britannia Beach. The Artists Studio Program fosters professional development in the arts and exposes the public to the world of visual art through studio visits, exhibitions and events. Starts September 2013. 😀
